Topps 2009 Series 1 Pack Breaks

I had Kim do reconnaissance at a local Target and she came back with 8 packs of Topps 2009 cards. There were no blasters but here is a sample of what we pulled. I apologize for the scans, the foil doesn't come out well when scanned.

Some more....

If you're feigning for packs, look for A-Rod.

The Toppstown cards have players on the front now as someone else has mentioned. And they come in the regular and gold versions. And there's an advertisement in the packs for Topps Attax.

I'll wait until I see them in person, but they look a bit disappointing in scans.

I actually think I like this set better than last year's...at least based on the scans. I haven't seen any in person yet, so I'll withhold final judgement until then.

You get a lot more photo on the card than last year. I wasn't a big fan of the 2008 design but I do like this design.

Have not seen any here. Guess the Targets here are waiting for the actual release date!!!

Do the Toppstown inserts count as one of the cards you get in the pack?
Or do you get 12 cards and the Toppstown insert?

Just curious...

I found them at Target too where I live. And here I thought I was the first... :(

I got a few cool cards, Walter Johnson and Jackie Robinson and scored the #7 Mantle which I always seem to hit.

This is my first year of 'officially' collecting baseball cards and am having a blast! But I have a few questions about the Topps 2009 Series 1. I began my collection by purchasing the 12 card packs that you also bought and decided to splurge one day on the $19.99 box of 10-packs (which also has A-Rod on the front and looks exactly the same). But when I opened the first pack I noticed the cards were different. The Topps logo was different (this one with a lower case 't') and the back of the cards had the 'old school' cardboard look. The pictures/stats on back is all the same but the construction of the cards are different. I haven't been able to find a reasoning or even acknowledgment of this... any thoughts? Thanks so much!
