*(not so) EXCLUSIVE 2008 Sweet Spot Retail break* (as of 12/05/2008)

I say exclusive because I haven't seen or heard of this product being released anywhere. It's still pre-sale on Blowoutcards so I'm screaming a big loud "FIRST!" I saw this at Target and jumped on it. They had two or three more tins left.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to pull an auto. But I think the price point vs the gamble is pretty decent. I haven't looked at the set checklist yet so I have no idea what is included in this set. I can only speculate that there's a crapload of non-star autographs and relics just so Upperdeck can say "hey, there's a game used patch or autograph in every box!"

Here are pictures of the base card and the relic card. The "baseball stitches" are embossed on the Rivera card, you can see them in the scan.

I like the really cool tin with Jeter and Ripken on it.

Wow - I had no idea that there would be a retail version of Sweet Spot. Doesn't look like you got your money's worth though. Thanks for showing us the break!

RETAIL Sweet Spot? Wow... So much for Hobby exclusive products... I just found Basketball Co-Signers at my Target. Neat stuff, the design is very subtle. What's up with three Yankee Legacy cards in three packs?

Not only am I surprised to see so many retail versions of product, I'm also kinda surprised that Target seems to be getting them first, as opposed to Wal-Mart.

On further reflection ... what a ripoff! Twenty-four base cards, and a common GU for $30? I'd be better off buying a pack of SPx, Ballpark Collection, or any other one-GU/AU per pack product. Not to mention those are some EXPENSIVE base cards!

Agreed, this is a tough product to bust retail. A lot of the hits popping up on eBay don't look great.

I agree that it doesn't look great, like a poor cousin of Ultra.

I've got a bunch of cards to send to you, but don't have your address. Please send me an email with your address to: dkrill-at-rochester-dot-rr-dot-com. Thanks.

Wow. I just bought one today and got the same Markakis GU card along with three doubles in three packs. Go figure.
